The Church requests that at least a three (3) month notice be provided prior to the desired wedding date. Please adhere to the scheduled start time as the Pastor may have other obligations/duties scheduled on your day. It is imperative and courteous to be on time.
Prior to the wedding, the future bride and groom must attend a counseling session with the Pastor to receive instructions regarding the service, roles, responsibilities and requirements. Counseling is scheduled through the Church office.
A wedding rehearsal must be scheduled 1 to 2 days prior to the wedding day. The marriage license, obtained from the appropriate government agency, must be presented to the Pastor at the rehearsal. Time and day are scheduled through the Church office.
The future bride and groom are required to take Communion during Church services on the Sunday prior to the wedding date.
Fees for the wedding service must be paid to the Church office 1 (one) week prior to the scheduled date in person or by mail. Checks should be made out to “St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church”.
The fee includes the church, service, sargavak (deacon), organist and Prelacy certificate. | Service | Members* | Non-members | | Prelacy Certificate | $50 | $50 | | Sargavak (Deacon) | $125 | $125 | | Organist | $125 | $125 | | Church | $100 | $300 | | Total | $400 | $600 | | Optional | | Soloist | $100 | $100 | | Choir | $150 | $150 |
It is an Armenian custom that an honorarium for the Pastor is made after the service. This honorarium can be made directly to the Pastor after the service is performed. St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church Fellowship Hall can accommodate up to 250 people. Please call the Church office for rental and available services information.
*Note: A minimum of either the bride or groom must be a current dues paying member of St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church.
